  1. The program on this disk is SHAREWARE.  You may make a copy of this program for
  2. evaluation purposes only.  If you decide to use this program, you MUST register
  3. it.  See the file CHKFILES.TXT for instructions on use and registration.

  5. The program CHKFILES.EXE is a completely self-contained program.  You can run
  6. it from the floppy disk or copy it to your hard drive and run it from there.
  7. There is no special installation procedure.  If you wish to install it so that
  8. it will have an icon on the program manager, do the following:
  9.  
  10. 1) From File Manager, create a subdirectory on your hard drive or select an
  11. existing subdirectory to use.  CHKFILES.EXE will work fine from wherever you
  12. put it.  You could create a subdirectory called CHKFILES, or simply put it in
  13. your WINDOWS directory.
  14.  
  15. 2) Copy the CHKFILES.EXE program from your floppy disk to the hard drive.
  16.  
  17. 3) From Program Manager, select the group you want the icon to appear in (such
  18. as Accessories).  Click on "File", "New", "Program Item", and "Ok".  Then click
  19. on "BROWSE" and find where you put the CHKFILES.EXE program and select it.
  20. Click on "OK" and the icon should appear.

  22. If you are using Windows '95, you can drag a link to the task bar to put it in
  23. your start menu.

  25. Be sure to read the CHKFILES.TXT file for important information on how to use
  26. and register CHKFILES.
  27.  
  28. To uninstall CHKFILES, simply delete the CHKFILES.EXE program from your hard
  29. drive and the CHKFILES.PTH file that it can create in the same directory if
  30. you saved your paths.  To remove all of the CHKFILES.CHK files, do a search
  31. from File Manager for "CHKFILES.CHK" in all subdirectories of each partition
  32. you are using (such as "C:"), and then select all the files in the search
  33. result box and delete them.
